You might have noticed I tweeted about being on hold with Adobe Customer Service so I could learn firsthand what the experience was like as a ColdFusion customer. It's unfortunate, but I've been fielding an increased number of complaints about Customer Service and Technical Support these past few months. Some reports just sounded too outlandish to be true, so I decided to investigate for myself. Adobe ColdFusion Experts Needed.

Must be goal oriented and passionate about solving problems. Being told how to code is a major turn off and creative power is a must. Your expertise of ColdFusion is outmatched only by your love for web development. Must play nice with others and be willing to work with some of the smartest people in the industry. Qualified candidates must provide multiple instances of community involvement in the form of publications, blog posts, podcasts and discussion lists – flame wars accepted. All applications must be received by 2010. Bonus offered for referrals. How do _you_ Flex?

The Adobe Learning Resource team has posted a very brief survey on how ColdFusion developers are using Flex. This is the same team at Adobe that writes all the great ColdFusion documentation, including the awesome ColdFusion Developers Guide (PDF). If you would spare 5 minutes of your time to answer some questions, it could lead to better resources and documentation for ColdFusion developers when Flex 4 is released! CFinNC : (not a) Keynote

Check out the Adobe keynote from CFinNC, a regional ColdFusion/Flex conference in Raleigh, NC. Actually, it's not really a keynote. It's more of a general session. Since it was just one week after MAX and the official launch of ColdFusion 9, there are no new surprises here. This presentation is an overview of ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder w/o any marketing! ColdFusion 9 DVD Contains ColdFusion 8

We've received a number of reports regarding an error with the DVD replication process for ColdFusion 9. It appears that some of the physical media DVDs for ColdFusion 9 contain the installers for ColdFusion 8. While the DVD label and packaging say "ColdFusion 9", it is in fact the ColdFusion 8 DVD. The serial number enclosed on the packaging is correct and will work with a ColdFusion 9 installer. ColdFusion 9 – It Takes a Village

By now I'm sure you've read that ColdFusion 9 was officially released at Adobe MAX. It's been a long journey and I almost can't believe we finally reached the end. I'm sure there will be plenty of blog posts circulating on how to leverage all the functionality of ColdFusion. This is not one of those posts. Instead, this is a post to say thanks. Speech vs. Beer: Why All Open Source Projects Are Not Equal

Adam Tuttle wrote up a really insightful entry on what "Free" software really means to market adoption (and how it relates to ColdFusion). This is a subject I spend a lot of time discussing/researching (too much if you ask my wife), so I wanted to add a little bit of color of my own. I'm a really big fan of open source when it's "free as in speech" but I find myself becoming more and more critical of professional open source or "free as in beer". < Previous Entries |
