Topic: ColdFusion BuilderAn Evening with ColdFusion
June 14 2010 5:01 PM
by Adam
Next week we will be holding a Special Event at the MDCFUG on June 22nd. Since we'll have a few ColdFusion team members in the Washington, DC area, we wanted to take the time to have an open discussion about the future of ColdFusion and ColdFusion Builder. We'll kick off the meeting with an overview of ColdFusion Builder and we'll provide a sneak peek at ColdFusion 9.01. Then we'll open up to a general discussion about the future of both products and talk about the type of features you'd like to see. Just in case free pizza and beer are enough, we'll also be raffling off 2 copies of ColdFusion Builder and a copy of ColdFusion 9 Standard. ColdFusion Builder 2 Research in North Carolina

If your company is located in the RTP area (or even Charlotte, NC) and you have a few hours to offer feedback on ColdFusion Builder, please let me know. Following NCDevCon, Dipanwita "Dips" Sarkar, ColdFusion Builder Engineer, and I will be visiting local ColdFusion shops to validate some of our plans for Storm (codenamed of ColdFusion Builder 2). Must be goal oriented and passionate about solving problems. Being told how to code is a major turn off and creative power is a must. Your expertise of ColdFusion is outmatched only by your love for web development. Must play nice with others and be willing to work with some of the smartest people in the industry. Qualified candidates must provide multiple instances of community involvement in the form of publications, blog posts, podcasts and discussion lists – flame wars accepted. All applications must be received by 2010. Bonus offered for referrals. CFinNC : (not a) Keynote

Check out the Adobe keynote from CFinNC, a regional ColdFusion/Flex conference in Raleigh, NC. Actually, it's not really a keynote. It's more of a general session. Since it was just one week after MAX and the official launch of ColdFusion 9, there are no new surprises here. This presentation is an overview of ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder w/o any marketing! ColdFusion 9 – It Takes a Village

By now I'm sure you've read that ColdFusion 9 was officially released at Adobe MAX. It's been a long journey and I almost can't believe we finally reached the end. I'm sure there will be plenty of blog posts circulating on how to leverage all the functionality of ColdFusion. This is not one of those posts. Instead, this is a post to say thanks. Check out the Adobe keynote from CFUnited 2009. The presentation looks back at the progress of the ColdFusion community / business over the past year, takes a high-level look at ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder and gives a preview of ColdFusion in the Cloud. Check out the presentation on SlideSix.com (powered by ColdFusion). Update ColdFusion Builder Beta Settings for Flash Builder 4 Beta

If you have installed the ColdFusion Builder beta in stand-alone mode, I recommend you update some of the underlying settings before adding in Flash Builder 4 beta. The standalone install of ColdFusion Builder only requires 256MB or RAM. Which is all well and good for ColdFusion Builder, but installing other plug-ins like Flash Builder 4 beta ups the requirements. Next Entries > < Previous Entries |
