ColdFusion Developer Population Survey

There has been a bit of speculation on just how many ColdFusion developers there are in the world today. 3^rd-party research companies are saying one thing, while Adobe's internal estimates are saying another. Because this number is critical to the planning for ColdFusion and ColdFusion Builder, we'd like to get to the bottom of this discrepancy. If you wouldn't mind, please take 1-2 minutes to complete the following survey. If you do, you will have a 1-100 chance of winning a copy of ColdFusion Builder.

Next week we will be holding a Special Event at the MDCFUG on June 22^nd. Since we'll have a few ColdFusion team members in the Washington, DC area, we wanted to take the time to have an open discussion about the future of ColdFusion and ColdFusion Builder. We'll kick off the meeting with an overview of ColdFusion Builder and we'll provide a sneak peek at ColdFusion 9.01. Then we'll open up to a general discussion about the future of both products and talk about the type of features you'd like to see. Just in case free pizza and beer are enough, we'll also be raffling off 2 copies of ColdFusion Builder and a copy of ColdFusion 9 Standard.

You might have noticed I tweeted about being on hold with Adobe Customer Service so I could learn firsthand what the experience was like as a ColdFusion customer. It's unfortunate, but I've been fielding an increased number of complaints about Customer Service and Technical Support these past few months. Some reports just sounded too outlandish to be true, so I decided to investigate for myself.

Your expertise of ColdFusion is outmatched only by your love for web development. Must play nice with others and be willing to work with some of the smartest people in the industry. The Adobe Learning Resource team has posted a very brief survey on how ColdFusion developers are using Flex. This is the same team at Adobe that writes all the great ColdFusion documentation, including the awesome ColdFusion Developers Guide (PDF). If you would spare 5 minutes of your time to answer some questions, it could lead to better resources and documentation for ColdFusion developers when Flex 4 is released!
