I'm The New Product Manager for ColdFusion
February 6 2009 6:15 PM
by Adam
It's official. I'm the new Product Manager for ColdFusion and Bolt. After a considerable amount of internal debate, I decided to step up and take the lead of the product I love so much. I don't mean to sound sappy, but I'm incredibly humbled that the rest of the ColdFusion team trusts me enough to fulfill this role. I'm honored to follow in the footsteps of people I admire. ColdFusion Competitive Comparison to Java, ASP.NET and PHP

From a technical perspective it's easy to see why so many developers choose Adobe ColdFusion. ColdFusion has all the native capabilities of Java but with a ton of value-added features. However, it may not be as easy to see why Adobe ColdFusion is superior from a business perspective when it's the only major player with an upfront cost. The recently updated ColdFusion Evangelism Kit now includes a competitive comparison with other leading server-side technologies like JSP, ASP and PHP. Win a ColdFusion Rocks T-Shirt in January

Throughout the month on January I'll be giving away a ColdFusion Rocks T-shirts to random followers of @ColdFusion. Originally designed by eBoy for the Adobe AIR Launch poster, the ColdFusion guy has been tweaked and pimped for everyday wear. These T-shirts are in limited supply and were previously only available to attendees of Adobe MAX - North America. I Got Hit By A Car

I'm not 100% sure when I wrote this entry as I vaugley remember actually writing it. I wrote it while recoving in a London hospital after being hit by a car. I guess I'm just posting it as record and a reminder. Always look both way when you're crossing the street. Centaur (ColdFusion 9) User Research Complete

On Friday, I gave a presentation to internal ColdFusion developers at Adobe (Adobe.com, kuler, etc). It was the final meeting of our user research phase and officially concluded the SyncDev process for Centaur. I wanted to take a few moments to reflect on the process and some of the many conversations we had with developers and how it's shaping the next major release of ColdFusion. ColdFusion Backup & Disaster Recovery License

Did you know that you don't need to purchase additional ColdFusion 8 licenses for your backup and disaster recovery servers? The license agreement was updated and tweaked for ColdFusion 8 specifically to allow for warm-backups. As long as the additional server is not concurrently receiving traffic with its production counterpart, you don't need an additional license. Prior to ColdFusion 8, the license only allowed for cold-backups. It's a small change, but it may save your organization a few bucks. ColdFusion 9 Research Next Week in Los Angeles, CA

One of our meetings in Los Angeles fell through today and we're looking for another ColdFusion shop to visit. We'll be in town next Tuesday and Wednesday (July 8-9). If your office is in or around LA and you'd like to get a preview (and give us your feedback) of ColdFusion 9, please drop me a line. Next Entries > < Previous Entries |
